22re connecting rod, upper bushing/bearing
Not sure what you call it, bearing or bushing. Anyway, the part of the connecting rod that hooks on the wrist pin of the piston.
How do you go about changing this out without destroying the connecting rod? Other options? Thank you.

+1 take them to a machine shop and have them checked.
I bought a set off ebay (all 4) for around $140 - already spec'd out, magnafluxed, and shotpeened... Typically the cost for this service is around $100-$150. Toyota rods are pretty solid.. May not need any work at all, but they should be checked.
