22re code 26 mixture control continuously rich

I've known it's running rich for a while but I don't know why I've replaced a lot of parts and haven't figured it out. I had an egr malfunction code because the egr pipe was loose at the back of the intake which I fixed and afterwards I started getting the code 26. I also have a tps sensor code but I readjusted it and recently replaced it. Can anyone help?

BUMP: I'm having the same problem. I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with mine. Whenever I put on a part it throws a code for, another code comes up. New parts so far:

-New ATK crate motor,
-New alternator
-New TPS
-New battery
-New exhaust (downpipe to muffler including catalytic converter)
-New O2 sensor

I'm over $4,000 in and the truck runs worse and worse the more money I add.... As I've said before, I'm about to throw it in a lake....

I think I'm in close to $3500 just on parts, not including what i paid for the truck also. It runs pretty choppy. Getting tired of it. If you're getting excessive codes, I'd suspect your ecu though.

it could be your m.a.f the big metal thing that hooks to your air box (air filter) mine was bad and it caused it to run rich .. smelled like straight gas coming out of the exhaust .. i have a 93 22re and got one off of a 88 22r and it hooked right up and solved the problem

Very good tip ^^^, that is where I would start too. However, there are specs out there to check the AFM before condeming it. Search on here or 4crawler's site for the reading.

Don't throw parts at it before doing some basic tests...AFM, TPS, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Non-leaking fuel injectors, Intake leaks, vaccum leaks, Fuel dampner, IACV allowing coolant into the throttle body venturi, Stong spark, properly timed. Do the free stuff first and get a good baseline to rule everything out. Then replace what is needed.
