22R Carb Swap - Gasket Question

1987 Base 2WD 22R - So I received a rebuilt carb from National Carburetor and got to work tonight pulling the old carb - everything went fine and I labeled everything I disconnected as well as where I disconnected it from - this should make hooking everything up easier.

Question is this:
The new carb came with two different gaskets - but the existing carb did not have a gasket of any sort - just the rubber/plastic baseplate. Do I need to use a gasket or should I bolt it back up just the way it was? If I should use a gasket, which one should I use and what should the "layers" be?

Thanks in advance - any help greatly appreciated.

R-

Im pretty sure you use both gaskets. The slotted one goes between the rubber plate and the intake manifold and the non-slotted goes between the carb and the rubber plate.

Should I be using RTV along with the gaskets?

Bump? Ready to put it all back together tonight - RTV or no RTV with the gaskets?

Thanks for the information. This was correct and for anyone else who comes across this I did not use RTV.

What threw me off was the fact that there were no gaskets in place when I pulled off the OEM carb.

The OEM base plate has the gasket material already attached as one assembly. When it's old, the gasket material is all blackened and doesn't look like anything remotely resembling a gasket.
