Common question, I'm sure. But, I searched to no avail...

I plan to install Roger Brown's 2" coil spacer in my 1990 4Runner. It is currently sitting "levelish" with new MOOG coils. Will this 2" lift necessitate an extended panhard bar or drop bracket? Anyone else with approx 2" lift in rear have any problems with the axle shifting to the side? Thanks...

I think you'd be better served asking Roger Brown himself...it's his spacer.

Define "problem". I have these spacers in my truck and the axle shifted about .75" at most. The truck does not drive in such a way that this is noticeable. I only know because I use the string method to do my own alignments and therefore was able to compare side to side numbers.

The shift is not something that is exclusive to the spacers, it's just how the rear suspension responds to lift whether it be longer springs or spacers. A longer panhard is the only correction but I wouldn't sweat it until you go higher where the shift becomes more pronounced.

I did ask Roger and he promptly responded that it PROBABLY would not shift enough to need an extended panhard bar or drop bracket. Seeing as there are plenty of folks on this board that run coil spacers or springs equivalent to a 2" lift, I wanted to also ask their collective input before I order.

The shift is so small most people likely haven't considered it much until now. I honestly found out by accident adjusting my alignment, otherwise, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. Within 2", don't sweat it, the suspension and truck will drive fine.
