this may be a dumb question. but i have a 93 4runner and am wanting a 2 inch ifs suspension lift. i cant find anything smaller than a 4 inch. i dont really want a 4 inch because i already have a 3 inch body and dont want too much lift. i cant take off the 3 inch body because i have 3 inch tailpipe installed and the only way that worked out was because of the body lift.

so does anyone know a manufacturer that makes a 2 inch ifs lift?

btw i dont want to spend a butt-load on a custom lift.

ps. not looking for bj spacers (but if you have a good reason to get these i might consider.)

I see that Wabfab has one for the pickups also. how would that work...? I thought the front end on the pickup and runners were different?

the 2g 4runners have a coil spring rear and the trucks have leaf springs.
otherwise, the front is the same.

Perhaps. Remember the bj spacers let the suspension flex right back to where the stock suspention did. So if you can't clear 32's now, you will still rub with bj spacers.

That being said, I have a buddy who drives a stock 3rd gen with 32x11.50" mud tires. He only had some minor rubbing.

you're right, that is a little confusing.

i wrote that sig before i really looked into the ball joint spacers, and from what i read, they weren't good. but if they are the only way to a 2 inch lift then i will go with them but i would prefer someting similar to the pro comp 4 inch ifs lift that is 2 inches not 4

What have you heard about them not being good? They are 10x better then ANY 4" bracket lift out there. In terms of strength and usability.

i've heard that they put major stress on cv joints and axles. also, the "2 inch" one only actually gives 1.5 inches of lift? if you have them and have nothing to complain about them then i might get em.

i looked at wabfabs bj spacer kit and the rear coil springs it comes with look like crap, anyone have any experience with these?

Personally I would lose the tail pipe and body lift. Get some Downey coils and crank your t-bars til you can clear your tires.....

The set up you are thinking of (i.e. 3 inch body and 2 inch lift)...5 inches total would be about perfect for 38-40 inch tires. What size tires are you running?

BJ spacers are probably what you want. I have them on my rig and have had no problems besides torn CV boots. That's a quick fix on a lazy Saturday. I plan to get manual hubs real soon to relieve the stress that the ADD puts on the CV's and their boots. If you don't mind doing that, that's the way I would and am going. and x2 on losing the BL and tailpipe. More than 1" of BL is unnecessary. I only have 1" and the only reason i put that on it to be able to clear 33x12.5's after I got the BJ's and the coils in the rear.

Any lift will add stress to the CV's as you are increasing the angle.

personally i have no problem with the body lift, i had one on my old 86 pickup and it was fine. i like the tail pipe it makes my flowmaster knockoff sound badass. so im not taking off the tailpipe or BL, so maybe i will just get the bj spacers.

i am going to put on 33x12.5R15 pro comp mud terrains. but i am still worried about rubbing.

i know this is off topic for this thread but does anyone have wheel spacers? i've heard that they put major stress on the original studs for the lugs. and will these fit with the automatic locking hubs in the front?

Im running the 3" body lift and 1.5" bj spacers and 2" AAL's. There is NO way I could run 38" tires. Not even 35" tires without some major cutting.
