2.5 TRD muffler

Today I was given an almost new 2.5" TRD muffler.

I have a 1987 22re, 5 speed, stock

I did a lot of searching and read a lot about using a a 2.25 from the cat back for increase power with a good header. So I am planning on getting LCE header and going to the 2.5 exhaust and using this TRD muffler, what do you think? should I expect gains or is this too big for a correct back flow?

what is a good high flow cat?

having a 2.5" muffler wont hurt having 2.25 piping... it'll easily just slip on and you can weld it. the muffler being 2.50 wont be noticable.

Don`t go any bigger than 2 1/4'' on your exhaust, even 2'' would work ok, its up to you.

but its only the muffler... the muffler isn't gonna effect anything except the noise.

well I got the LCE header in and a new cat back 2.25 exhaust with the TRD muffler, and the truck does pull a lot better, makes a lot more noise under acceleration, but not a cruise.

Agreed
Using x2 2.25 ex panders to fit the 2.5 muffler in line won't effect anything except the noise of the exhaust
