I’ve research and now ready to make a move, I need some confirmation guys. I’m planning on lifting my runner to fit 33’s to 35’s for some moderate outdoors activity. No hard CORE wheeling like some of you folks, but still what that OFF IM A O.G. YOTA look. This will be my first lift ever…I have a 88 Runner 4x4 3.0 V6 AUTO IFS, my issue is:

1. With a Tuff Country 4-5 inch lift and 2-inch Body lift will I clear & no rubbing on 35x12.50 R15 tires w/ Pro Comp 15x8 6on5.5 wheel with 4.5 backspacing??

2. The Tuff Country 4-5 inch lift that are mostly offer, is it a complete bolt on setup with NO modifications?

3. Why is it so hard to find Body Lifts for automatic? Almost no body sells them. Can anyone recommend?

4. As for gears, I think I have the 4.56, can I use the gear for now OR should I really upgrade to the 5.29 gears? Anyone recommend a brand with reasonable cost? “Again not going to be DD as well. Only my weekend outdoor ride with little DD..”

Any suggestion would really fill in the blanks in my head….=)

#3- body lifts for automatics are hard to find because of two things:
---- floor shifters slide front to back and lifting the shifter means that the linkage under the shifter doesn't move as far so they don't make them. yeah, they could convert the linkage to a cable setup but they won't.
---- column shifters have the linkage go through the firewall next to the steering column and no one wants to make a simple extended link in order to make the lift kit work.

AWW that just sucks, theres gotta to be someone on here that have done it...I got a feeling automatic's were always harder to dealt with. but what can I say, this was a free ride..

4.56's won't be horrible with 33, but you should re-gear for either. 5.29's for 33's and 5.71's for 35's..

Just a reminder 33x10.5/15's will fit with no lift....

Oh yeah, one solution SOLVED. Thank you for the site. Anyone has any input for tires.. size the 10.5 or 12.5 both 35's. worst case I', might just stick with 33x10.5... but if i can clear 12.5 (bigger) I would like to...

Just offering a head's up.
4Crawler's body lift kit will not work on a column shift automatic.

Im pretty darn sure most of the Bracket lifts out there require cutting out the main crossmember in the front end to drop everything down.

In anycase, go with full leaves in the pack, no blocks. You will regret them.
And 5.71's with 35's is as good as its gonna get for you.
