1st gen runner diamond plate panels

I read somewhere on here (couldn't find it on a search) where someone was going to, or planning to, install a set of rear cargo area panels on a 1st gen runner that were made out of diamond plate aluminum. Does anyone know where that thread went and if the panels ever got installed? Also need to know if they were aftermarket panels or something that was custom built. I'd like to do something like this and add a few little access areas in the panel to hold a tool kit, first aid kit, etc.

Thank you.

Those panels are all flat panels. We considered doing that and were going to just cut our own and use a rubber or vinyl edge molding, like a door edge guard. Speaker openings and access doors should be a piece of cake.

I have done this diamond plate conversion for the 1st gen runner. I did 1 solid piece from the front seatbelt line to the back corner and have the access doors with pad locks so i can put stuff in and lock it when the tops off... let me know what you guys think.

thanks RMA, This was the first one i have done, and i think i could get another done in a couple of hours but i do have a few things i would change...Like hank said, a rubber edge cover would be benifical for sound proofing, as when your driving there is a liitle rattle, mostly from the doors, but i opted for a thick window weather stripping. also a nice bead of caulking on the bottom edge near the floor helps a bit with rattles, then the linex over that and im 99% rattle free. let me know if anyone has any questions, sorry there isnt a write up for it, as i did the panels before i found y/t
