1995 4WD Pickup Suspension Maintenance
Hey all. The truck is a '95 DLX Xtra cab, 4WD, 22RE, 5 spd. It has 81k road miles - I don't go 4 wheeling. She rocks, rolls & squeaks, so I'm sure that all of the bushings, etc. are shot. Is there a good kit with good instructions that anyone could recommend? I'm also assuming that I should replace the shocks. Recommendations? I've done a lot of surfing looking for a "Suspension for Dummies" guide for my truck. I've not found anything particularly useful. Anyone know of a good, basic place to go? I'm not looking for a lift kit. One last thing: I just replaced the timing chain and I had to remove the front frame cross-member so I could lower the front differential in order to pull the oil pan. Since I put it all back together and test drove it, I've developed a vibration in the front end that starts to appear when I get over 20-30 mph and gets progressively worse as I go faster. It's pretty severe. I doubt that I messed up the alignment that severely. From a drive train standpoint, I only pulled the 4 cross-member bolts and the 3 differential bolts (1 front & 2 rear). Passenger front wheel was pulled for access.
