Exclamation 1995 4runner a.d.d. front axel shaft

how bout it guys im a newbie to this forum but i have been wheelin yotas for a while. anyways i got the 1995 sr5 for free not a dent on it, then rolled it crawlin a week after back to the t-case i think i broke my chain, not sure but the a.d.d. is working. i was riding last night down a muddy road climbed a few hills no problem as i drove back i noticed the front was not pullin at all! i got on the road put it back in 4-hi and the whole truck bound up and would barely move then i put it in reverse and it was fine.

my hubs and vacum lines are fine and it is engaging 4wd light, i never did hear anything break like my '87 or '84. the truck dont have many miles on it are the t-cases weak? please help!! i need 4wd bad

oh yeah 3vze auto pretty much stock
spool and 33" swampers

can you be a bit more specific as to what you were doing when it bound up? turning, traveling in a straight line etc. if you are turning tight, the front end will bind up in 4 hi/lo.

get it in the air and check that, in fact, there is power getting to the front wheels. if you have manual hubs, remove them and inspect for any broken parts. let us know what you discover.

add

it bound up in a straight line on pavement, I got my girlfrind to power brake it and the t-case still spins, so i can rule that out. what wound break in the add? my vacume lines are five and the 4wd light comes on, which it wont do if the lines or vsv is bad, ive tried switching the lines but that did not help.
the hubs, cv joints are fine its just that stupid add. how does the acuator connect the axel? can i just put one of my old shafts from parts left over from my87's SAS? it will be full time 4wd then. would my old selectable hubs work?

check out this link, its copied from the top of the page:

http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...fsm/index.html

the suspension section, front diff in particular, will have all the information you should need to get it apart, inspected, repaired and re-installed. if you dis-assemble the drivers side axle tube, you WILL require the services of a shop press to remove the bearing inside the axle tube.

good luck and keep us posted.
