1994 pick-up rebuild

So I was out a couple weeks ago on a pretty crazy trail
And, long story short, I rolled my truck!

So, what to do now? Ofcourse the only reasonable
Thing one could do... Buy another truck and rip it apart and use two to build one! Duh!
So I found this little unit on craigslist.

And it begins!

There goes the box.

Cab's next.

Naked!

This btw is a great time to fix all sorts of little things that you've been putting off and to replace wiring and other corroded bits. So much easier without that pesky "body" in the way!!
"New" cab sitting on the ground ready to go on. But we needed to replace a motor mount before we could proceed

Both trucks gutted.

New cab in place.

I don't have many pictures after this point cuz as you can imagine, things got busy! We worked till dark and called it a day.

The next morning it was just buttoning everything up, and bleeding the breaks/clutch, coolant and oil....yadda, yadda.

Yeah you bet! The body on the "donor" truck was in far better shape than my original body ever was too!
I got the donor truck cheap cuz second gear was going in the tranny and the engine had wicked knock.
Not like I needed the motor and tranny anyway, but it was usefull in carving down the price!! Haha!!

I am always saying how much easier life is with an excavator. Looks great, seems like you made out better than you were before.

Wow thats great work!! nice recovery and great job on the switch over. a excavator seems very useful for that job. looks great. now you can part out the donor truck and score some money back
