1994 3.0 L V6 4runner NO torque, No power

My automatic 1994 4runner has been acting up and not one person can answer my problem. If you have an answer please reply to me ASAP! It revs up all the way but has no torque. It runs erratically at steady throttle at low rpm.
<br>Power loss, rattle from behind engine, revs extremely slowly when cold, when going up hill, it decelerates and BOGS down from 35 to 10 mph and then revs up to 3500 rpm and bucks into 2nd gear trying to speed up, but it slows down. Also the vacuum hose from the fuel canister that plugs into a module behind the engine is unplugged; the man I bought this 4runner from tore the tube off this piece behind the engine and plugged the module with gum. Then I found the other tube that connects to that module is unplugged and behind the engine is still rattling. The Module is the tvv where the hoses are disconnected.
<br>
It just got a full tune up plugs wires cap rotor fuel filter. It feels like it is starving for fuel. But I have used fuel injector cleaner, sea foam, etc, and nothing helped. Now I think it is a sensor. When I fully rev the engine then let go, it slowly revs to about 1500 rpm. I have to hold the throttle and it slowly revs to around 5000 rpm. when I am driving, it has way less power than my dads three identical 4runners. 1994 and 1995 stock models. I go up a hill and it will not remain a constant 30 miles per hour, instead it drops all the way to 10 miles an hour as if there was absolutely no torque. When I drive I
have to push the pedal to the floor, but it will not rev above 3500 rpm. My tranny shifts great so it isn't that I can guarantee it. I removed the EGR using deep creep, and sprayed inside each tube. Anyway, I drive on the freeway, it goes 60 then can go 70mph, but suddenly BOGS down to 50 and I press the pedal to the floor and it remains at 3500 rpm but will not speed up. I have to drive at 50 until the power comes back and the fuel flows through a little better and then get up to speed again. ITS severe loss of power and It happens every time i am on the freeway. Plus The vacuum lines behind the engine are unplugged. From the fuel canister to the back of the motor and another line that plugs into the same module behind the engine. But the Rattling from back there begins as soon as I start it up and is unbelievably loud. The sound vanishes after 5 minutes, and then whenever It decelerates the rattling takes place. When I use low RPM's it rattles. Please Help!

Where do we even start on this...

I would download the FSM for your year of truck and go through the troubleshooting section. I don't think there is one silver bullet that is going to fix your problems; it's going to be a combination of things.

Start reading and getting familiar with your engine. It’s going to take a large time investment on your end to get this fixed. Or just take it to a trusted mechanic to get it fixed.

Okay and also The check engine light does not turn on.
I have a feeling it has something to do with fuel? or a vacuum leak do these symptoms sound comparable to the issues that are running by any chance?

I would check your compression first( could be anything), with the cluster @@#% goin there I would start at square 1.

He extemely low power symptom sounds like knock sensor gone out but that shoul give you a code. It can have stored codes even if no check engine light...

also, any modules unplugged can cause all kinds of issues.

It hasn't been timed for a long time, and there are no exhaust leaks. but there is a weird gasket behind the engine with a plate covering it and it may be leaking

I put a new fuel filter could it be a fuel pressure regulator. How do you make a car omit trouble codes ? I just plugged it in and no codes are popping up

So it has hesitant acceleration, and the engine makes a leaking throbbing rattling sound at the back of the engine when I start it, and it goes away when it is warm. If I rev it, when the rpm's go down , it makes a quick rattle leaking throbbing noise at low rpms. I am reading the troubleshooting FSM and there are way too many things that could be wrong with it. I just installed K&n air intake and it literally made no difference. At All.

Check the following.

Start with a vacuum test. Could be somthing very simple like a damaged vacuum line, leaking EGR, damaged manifold gasket, etc.

Next do a compression test. All cylinders should be above 140 psi and with in 15lbs of each other. If you have any that are under 120 you have a real problem like burnt valves or ring issues.

Get out the multi meter and start looking at the TPS and throttle body. This can cause some strange issues especially if the TPS is failing.

And of course try to pull the codes. If you are getting a knock sensor code that can definitely be a issue.

On another note does anyone know how hard it would be to swap the 3.0 with a 3.4?

Have you checked your exhaust back pressure? I have seen plugged cats cause those symptoms.

Was there ever a solution to the problem that started this thread. I am having the same exact trouble on a 95 toyota 4runner 3.0
