I just bought a 1993 Toyota and the man took off the headliner and I am trying to replace it. I have two medal rods that run across the top of the roof but I don't know where they are supposed to clip in. Also is there supposed to be any other arts to the headliner. Anything will help and pictures are great. Thanks

The holes in the of the roof where the rods goes may get a little confusing, but if you start from the rear, they will line up quick and tell you where they need to be. The rods pop into so holes. Once I have the rear clip in, it helped to invert the rod so that it boweddown. I stuck the rod in the holes and then just pushed it up to where it was bowed to the correct position.

The rubber trim holds the edges of the headliner in which can take a little paitience. This is on an 85 but should be similar.
New headliner and the foam pad that helps insulate.


Follow the directions and this stuff works great. Sticks to anything it bumps into.


Apply a coat to the roof as well.


Rear clip that holds the back part of the headliner.


While waiting for the glue to set up, I cleaned the map light bracket of all the glue they had over it. It needs to be clean as it is a ground for the maplight.


I have showed how to install maplights in other builds. Here is the two screws I was never able to get pics of.


Here is Misty helping with getting the front trim on the front to hold the headliner in. Two people will make this easier.


The back windows and rear glass seals help hold the headliner in as well. This is as far as I can go for now as the window edges need cleaned up from head liner left in before and some rust on th lower area.


Here is most of the headliner in. I need to pull the rear glass as it is being difficult. I will replace the trim on the inside at a later time as they just used regular spary paint and it looks terrible. It will hold the headliner in place for the time being. They also tinted the windows purple. I will try and clean them up but I do know where a nice set is at if I need them.

Thanks for all help. The only problem now is that I don't have the foam headliner board. I also don't know how many rods run across the top of the truck. I have two rods.

I have a 92 standaard cab and it has 3 seams, I am betting it has 3 rods in it. I tried to feel for them and cant feel the rods as it feels like it has some foam around the rods.

You dont need the headliner board, but it would help keep heat off of the roof. You cousl substitute any kind of foam or a type of quilting material if you had to. That is what I would do if I had to.

So the foam is glued to the roof am the rods just help to hold in place then you put on the fabric. Correct?
