1992 toyota pickup 3vze auto tranny Major Problems!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok to start with im really leaning towards the ECU being bad but heres the problem I reset the computer the other day to clear the codes and while doing so i pulled the EFI fuse. after doing this when my tranny 'Automatic' goes to shift into 2nd the engine dies but I can slam it down into low and the engine will catch again. After a while it will finally shift into 2nd but will hesitate and usually gets better as it warms up. Also when i go to stop, when the speedo hits 15 the engine will die , most of the time sometimes it catches and don't die sometimes it wont do it at all and run normal. Im pretty mechanically inclined but as to the situation im highly confused if anyone has any ideas just post them please.
Already tried, replaced AFM, tested TPS, tested O2 sensor-i think may be bad
reset computer several times any ideas i need major help!!!

Your transmission will diagnose itself. Start there.

My truck runs like poo poo when its cold. This is due to a failed EGR valve. I am not sure if this relates to your issues though. Does the engine die when it shifts or is it something else ? BTW with how old our trucks are they are going to be notorious for vacuum leaks due to cracked vacuum hoses/lines. May be a good idea to go through those as well.

transmission is spotless no problems at all i think when it dies the engine is flooded out because its hard to start and usually theres a strong odor of gas maybe o2 sensor bad ? but still no codes for anything at all has me stumped .... all leads back to the ecu..

in the other thread you said it idled fine in park but it dies when shifting into 2nd. correct? did you check the tranny with scopes link? the o2 sensor does control the fuel mixture in your truck so if you think its bad and its over 60-80k miles then you should replace it anyway. vacuum leaks are always a possibility
