1992 22re Removal/Install with pics

Hey everyone, first of all what a great site.

I'm replacing the 22re in my 1992 4wd Extended-Cab Pickup.
After 210,000 miles and a burnt valve I've decided to go with a rebuilt engine from Sunwest Automotive (located near Spokane, WA).

I purchased a Chilton's Manual to help with the process but any advice would be helpful. I have alot of experience with chevy small blocks and 70's trucks but this is the first import engine I've worked on.

Day 1: reference pics taken, all vacuum hoses marked with masking tape, fluids drained

*probably going to be a while before I go any further, I have to pay tuition before I buy the engine lol. Go Cougs!!

I have tons of pics, but they exceed the kB limit or something. How do I resize?

Here is a thread for a little reference on removing and installing an engine.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...nstall-223908/

It's really not too hard on these engines. The toughest part will be unbolting and reattaching the tranny.

Once you get into it, you could knock it out in a long weekend.

As for the pics, just up-load them to photobucket and copy and past the url code into the reply area. Done!

Good luck
