1991 Toyota 3VZE rebuild

Just thought I would show some pictures of my engine before and after the rebuild. My first rig so I'm proud of how it came along and I plan to do much more with it. It had a blown head gasket, burnt valves, and a roasted clutch. All new and replaced.

Extremely clean inside and out. 5 speed manual. The sticker is there since the area code up here in idaho is 208. I'm the only one with it right now, I like it because it's something that really distinguishes my yota from everyone else's from the front.

I love seeing an engine that clean! Shows a real attention to detail. Keep up the good work.

What are you going to do with the exhaust system? I have a thing against the factory crossover on the firewall end which is why I put headers on my '91 4Runner. Gets all the heat out of the engine compartment fast and doesn't cook the back 2 cylinders.

Have fun!

Well, I've always been a fan of headers and my original plan was to do that, but I have a few paths to choose from. Right now the truck is straight piped, the cat is cut out and replaced with straight pipe, the pipe connects to the muffler, then out the back it splits into dual exhaust with chrome tips out behind both rear tires.

People always stop me and ask if I have a v8 in the thing, it sounds absolutely mean.

Once this engine goes bad, whenever that may be since I only did the top end and not the bottom end due to insufficient funds (203k miles on bottom end), I'm pry going to do a swap. I'm either going to put a 3.4 v6 out of a Tacoma in it or a 350 small block. Then I'll put heads on whichever one of those I choose. I don't wanna put much more money into this 3VZE.

Main reason for all of my choices is funds. One month left of high school until I graduate until I can start working full time and make money, until then I'm pretty damn broke haha
