1991 Pickup: To Live or To Die?

I have a 1991 Toyota Pickup 4x4 that has been my baby since I got it. When I bought it, it had 223,000 miles on it, and it now has 258,000. It had the original 3.0vze engine replaced around 200k, but now I have a problem.

I have replaced many things on the truck over the years that I have had it, including:
Water pump
Alternator
Power steering pump
Radiator
Rear differential
Starter
Computer
Distributor
Mass Air Flow Sensor

but today I was driving to the gas station and blew two head gaskets. Now my options are:
(1) Get a new engine installed for $1500, with a 3 year warranty on the engine
(2) Start shopping for a different vehicle (probably a Toyota Pickup with the 22r 4cyl engine)

I knew when I bought it that the 3.0l engine was not as reliable as the 22r, but it had never given me any problems until today.

The body is in pretty bad shape; I was in an accident (not my fault) and replaced the hood, both fenders, grille, bumper, etc. So all of those parts are still primer-black, and the rest of the truck is blue. I love to go offroading, so there are many dents and dings all over the body.

The only other problem with it (body-wise) is the stab marks. I was living in my apartment down here at Georgia Southern last year, and left to go home for the summer. About halfway home, I stopped at Sonic to get a bite to eat, and discovered that somebody had STABBED my truck, on the hood, passenger's side door, and tailgate. The ones on the hood and door are the worst, because they have started to rust around the edges, and also let in the outside air/water.

Now, I am asking you all if you think I should try to find a decent, used 4x4 pickup with the 22r engine, or if you think I am better off just replacing the 3.0L that is currently in the truck, for a 3 year warranty. Thank you for your help, and for reading this long post. I just don't know who else to turn to for advice; this truck really was my pride-and-joy, beat up as it was.
