1991 4Runner SR5 V6
I am considering purchasing a 1991 4Runner SR5 V6...body and paint is in excellent condition, engine and and tranny are as well. 139,000k on it, they are asking 2650 for it...does this sound like a decent buy? (the miles are original, that was what first attracted me to it)
Its 4X4 too, 2 door (by the way, why do they call it a 2 door, 2nd gen. if there are actually 4 doors on it?)
Thanks,
Brown28

There are two door 4Runners and 4 door 4Runners. They stopped selling the 2 door version in 1992 I believe. If there are rear passenger doors, then its a 4 door, if not its a 2 door, its that simple.
That would be an excellent price in my area (BC, Canada) but have a look on Craigslist to see how it rates in your area.

Agreed, that's a good price for here, but what about for your area? Plus, make sure to find out if the head gasket was repaired under recall or not. They are notorious for failing. Look for rust around the wheel openings and around the doors (including the rear gate).

Mine 90 has 100,000 more miles then that and I would pay that for it 139,000 is damb good for the age but if you buy it get the recalls checked and done if not already done.

That's a good deal as long as nothing major is getting ready to go. I found where I'm at in AZ the main reason someone sells there 4Runner is cause somethings wrong with.
