1991 4-Runner...Mind of its own!
Hi There!
I'd like to introduce myself...my name is Silas..I don't own a toyota truck/suv...hopefully i will soon! right now i'm posting this for a good friend of mine whos truck i've spent quite a good number of hours working on ( lots of bodywork, lift, tires, etc...)
Anywho. The problem we're having right now with the truck is that it has a mind of its own, Thank god so far though that it hasn't figured out how to start itself!
The truck will sometimes flash the high and low beams off and on...randomly...there is no pattern to it. At other times, the stereo will come on by itself, or with the heater blower, occasionally with the lights too... The High Beam Indicator Light on the dash is Constantly on! even when the trucks off...and sometimes the left headlight won't turn on low beam, other times both of the low beams won't work and instead of being low, they will be high and you cant turn them off!
What i've diagnosed to likely be the culprit: A faulty ignition, and LH lowbeam grounding out, possibly along with the wiring going to the dimmer relay?
Before i rip it all apart...i'd just like to get a couple second opinions.
Thanks!
