I don't know what it is, but if you live by a dealer they will be able too look up a picture of a blow apart of the engine and you can point too what the part is. They will give you the part number and what toyota calls it all for free. If you want they will also sell you one of what ever it is.
Sometimes they are cheaper then parts places for stuff sometimes they are 4X the cost or the only place to get it.

The local one knows both of my trucks by heart and just ask me 4x4 or 2wd when they see me. lol
Once you get through the lack of upkeep the truck will be very reliable. Keep at it. the 3.0's don't like abuse, so just keep up on the upkeep and your good. Seen several people in here with 400,000 mile 3.0 without rebuilds.
also in the 1990 3.0's they had a recall on the head gaskets, while your in toyota have them do a vin check and see if yours has been done.

Its probably not the gas. You can post pics by uploading them too a site like flickr.com or photobucket.com.
then use the bbc code to post it.

Its a rv cab truck conversion done by a company called leisure odessy. They called it the fun runner.
Its very similar too a 4runner but it has a hatch/tailgate in the back, and the area behind the cab is a bit different, also has a totally different roll bar.
dang a hundred dollar screw.
