1990 3.0 4runner swap 1995 3.0 pickup engine
Hello.
I have a 1990 4 runner with a wasted 3.0 engine. I just picked up a real nice running 1995 pickup with the 3.0 engine. Both are auto's, both have AC.
I want to swap the 3.0 from the 1995 pickup into the 1990 4 runner.
My question is: What do i need to use from the 1990 engine to run the 1995 engine in the 1990 4 runner? Computer? Upper & lower intake with injectors, knock sensor & wire? airbox & intake?
I don't want to swap a 3.4 into it! I would ONLY want to hear from someone that knows what i need to do the swap without headaches and can give some details.
Thank you!

When you pull the 1990 out of the 4Runner, take off the intake plenum' remove the entire engine wiring harness. Swap anything that is different from the 1990 onto the 1995. The basic engine is the same, however some parts (sensors, hoses, vac lines) will be different. Basically! If it looks different on the 95, swap what ever was on the 1990 onto it. You want to use the ecm and wiring harness that are in the 1990. Summary, you are changing making the 95 into a 90. Even th eintake plenum may have to be swapped because of coolant lines running under it and TPS differences. I just did the same with a 1990 and 1989.
Good luck!
