1988 truck Saved from the crusher Rebuild Build
Okay so I picked up this 88 truck 4x4 for 400 bucks and 50 for the u haul trailer. Was gonna go to the junk yard! It has 170k everything works including the AC but needs lots of TLC. This project is gonna be pretty slow going until I get my car sold. (any one want a reliable car hmu lol)
Okay so here is my plan:
Replace front crankshaft seal
Set Valves
Replace balljoints tie rod ends
headlight housing (currently zip tied)
some dent pulling and hood bending
new radiater support and if i can find one a new header panel (prior salvage title but hey its a yota so you cant go wrong)
headman header to a stack
tube bumper off a jeep
3in balljoint spacer lift kit with shocks
fab and weld in new floor pans
bucket seats
bedline cab and frame
flatbed/box with wheel wells (so many flatbeds with out them and your tires hit when its flexin!)
headeche rack
31x10.5r15's
Bad A** camo paint job (step dad is pretty darn good at camo ill see if i can find a picture of his flat bottom)
A little bout me, my name is Nacy yes its different but its a family name. I'm 19. I'm currently a Ford Asset student (to be a fully certified tech) and employed at ulrich ford Lincoln in pella, ia. I grew up on a farm so working on suff is what I do best.
So far this is the best automotive forum I've ever been on! Any hints or tips and comments are greatly appreciated! stay tuned for the resurrection.

Ur from pella eh? I'm actually going to the hospital there today to take my daughter in for her 2 yr checkup lol. Let me know if u need some parts, I've got an 87 parts truck that I'm not using any of the body except the doors. I could always use a lil extra cash for my truck lol. I'm in montezuma but my trucks are in new sharon. Welcome to the forum. Looks like ur gonna have a nice lil build there.

I got a set of bucket seats center console out of a 94 four runner and a skid plate for trade in for a old dodge brush guard. Snap some pics soon. What year truck will parts be compatible with my 88? only 88 with new body style (weird) and newer yotas at my local jy.

If u pm me ur number I can send u pics 2moro. I'm thinkin my headlight bezels and radiator support are in good shape also if ur still needing those parts. My parts truck was originally going to be my project truck before I bought my 85 back so what's left of it is still in pretty decent shape. Mice got into it so it's stinks inside tho lol.

Its gonna be more of a box than a flatbed. I'm gonna do 2in square tubing for the frame of it and diamond plate for the bed and the sides or some thin sheet metal and paint it like the rest of the truck.

What would it take to put 89 fenders and box on? would I have to change doors too? Just asking cause I found a cali truck in the jy and only wants 500 for the box and fenders.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post52083942 This guy has a 3rd gen pickup box on his 2nd gen pickup, so its deffinetly possible. Fenders would probly be alot more work though, i would imagine with the box you would just need to drill holes to match the body mount on the frame then put bolts through?
