1988 Toyota Pickup 22RE 4x4 power steering help?
Hey guys, I recently bought a 88 pickup. The previous owner was getting ready for an SAS and took the powering steering stuff off and none of it came with the truck. So I'm trying to figure out what pump, where it goes and where do the lines run.
Pictures would be much appreciated and links to the parts. The steering box is still there. Just need hoses, pump, belt, and reservoir. I don't know anything about power steering on these motors but I have a lot of automotive knowledge so hit me with what you got.
Oh and wondering if anyone would know why it doesn't start sometimes. After I run I offroad or anything the truck doesn't like to start. When you turn the key literally nothing happens. No clicks or anything. Any advice on that would be nice

Best I got... P/S pump is below the distributor cap.
Get the FSM here. You're gonna have to do your own parts shopping, bud.
Clutch has to be pushed in to start (or clutch cancel button pushed). Make sure the switch behind your clutch is working.

I'll probably just got through oreilly's and get everything new. I can post pictures of my steering box later but my main thing was that I can only find one place to connect a hose to it. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Thank you for the location help though, I wasn't sure which side it goes one cause there are 3 open bolt holes in the side of the block on the otherside.
The starting problem ended up being a lose starter wire on top of a dirty battery terminal so I got that all fixed up and it starts everytime now. Running damn good too after I adjusted the TPS and timing.

I got and 88 pickup that had the threads stripped off the end if the power steering pump rod. So i could not attach a pulley to it (which was also missing).
I ended up just ordering a new pump at oreilly. Problem was none of the pumps came with the pulley, and finding one has been a challenge because they did not have one on file for that truck. Im still looking for one now.
