1988 Leaf Springs
Haven't been on here for awhile but long time Toy owner. 88 4cyl 5sp 4X4 all stock but tires 31x10x15. Changed gears from 410 to 488 now have bad leaf spring twist. What springs should I use would like to keep the stock height use truck to plow snow. Or is there another way to prevent to spring twist.
Thanks

Explain just what you mean by leaf spring twist??
I have never seen it on such a low horse power engine.
Now if all the spring bushing are really worn or gone that would be different.
Just get stock spring replacements
Your local spring shop should be able to help you If not General Spring out of Kansas City

In low range first gear only??
Just what are you doing that causes this??
Are your springs worn out??
If you need new springs just replacing them may solve your problems.
I have all new leaf springs on mine.
It is the separation of the spring leaves which is the cause most times.
One trick from the olden days is to have u-bolts made that fit your springs and then make your own top plates.
It matters not which way or how this is done you can use nuts and bolts and plates .
This is attached between the front spring mount and the axle to clamp the leaves together about in the middle.
Most often cures the problem if one is unable to afford new springs
Like first aid till you can fix it the correct way
