Wix filters are actually pretty good. Stay away from Castrol, its a fish oil and can cause oil consumption issues, use Diesel engine oil 10w-30 for the win (has zinc for the camshaft). Spark plugs, well I use Bosch (currently), NGK, Denso, never had a problem until recently with 336,000 miles with exhaust port corrosion into the water jacket. Along the way I used every "super teflon" additive there ever was and I still have the factory chain & guides. No real oil consumtion issues, but that engine is tired.

I normally use NGK plugs, never had a problem with them, and I use Valvoline High Mileage oil. Used to use fram filters, but not anymore! switching to something else!
