Just wondering if these would fit on an 89 22RE?

Great review.

Man, I would have bought these likely when I did my new head/HG project (ended up getting mine cleaned instead - still a great upgrade, though I'm sure the head/cam had something to do with it too!).

just letting anyone in California know that my truck passed smog today with a set of the gray flamethrower injectors. i was a little worried because the first test i did i failed but it was because of the catalytic converter being bad. put on a new cat and the truck passed with ease.
these are a very good investment if your truck is in need of injectors

I was wondering the same thing. My smog check comes up in July... here's to hoping!

Question

I've got a buddy with an '88 22RE Pickup who wants to get a set of these injectors. Does he need the '84-87 set or the '89-95 set? Thanks in advance!

88 is a one year only injector. They have red tops like the 89-95 but have a different resistance value in them. Flame Thrower will know the 88s are different. Just make sure his truck is an 88 model.

Thanks for the quick reply. His truck is definitely an 88. So should he order the 84-87 set and make a note that it's an 88 or order the 89-95 set and note that it's an 88?

He needs to order the 88. Besides the resistance difference, the fool proof tabs keep them from being interchanged. The 85-94 22re had three different injetors.

Thank you Terry! I was able to get a hold of Curtis on eBay today and he said to order the 84-87 and then call him to let him know it's for an 88 so that he can supply the correct wiring adapters with the injectors.

Appreciate your help sir!

Anything like these for an 87 22rte? I know the stock ones flow quite a bit more than the non turbo.

10 Guage.. Thanks for letting me know of the adapter. I will keep that in mind for the next guy. I have a set of 85-87 Flame Throwers and really like mine. Seems like I had to adjust my idle down after installing them and I feel it was because I was getting a better burn.

Turd Furgeson..I am not sure about 22rte injectors. Flame Thrower is a vendor on here and his site on ebay, with a message he will get back with you. I am curious myself.
