1987 4 runner engine runs rough and rich but has power
Hello I have 1987 4runner 22re it was running fine last week haven't drove it in a week. Now went to start it. It started fine then immediately started to run rough very rich sounds like it's running on less than 4 cylinders it has power there is a little gray smoke coming out. I checked the codes and code 6 and 12 pop up one of the codes might be old never clear them before they and check engine came on once but it went away so I never check it.

I would clear the codes and see if they come up. The leak on the Cold Start Injector, I would replace the crush washers. A small leak at the injector will put out a lot of fuel and is a fire hazard. Black smoke is rich fuel, Blue smoke is oil, white is steam, not sure what gray is.
When was the last complete tune up with quality parts? All lines and hoses connected correctly?

Is your current engine the original, rebuilt? Has any major work been done to it?

You need to run a compression to test to see if it is a head gasket. Is it excessive smoke/steam? This time of year they tend to blow steam due to the colder weather, depending on where you live.
I would check several things as it could be something a lot easier then a head gasket.
