1986 toyota 4runner 22re w/turbo automatic

i was wondering what any of you have done for upgrades on this model. the only things that i have done are put in pulsar spark plugs, upgrades spark plug wires, i bought a mean green alternator for it but the mechanic said it didnt fit, maybe because it is a turbo. the mean green alternators are supposed to give you 300% electricity. i put a yellow top optima battery, 2 fuzes for my stereo out of my battery. wide carr sidesteps, roofrack, chrome brushguard, fitted front and back seat covers, pioneer stereo head unit, spx700 pro alpine 6" speakers in the front driver and passenger side doors, tweeters and crossovers came with the spx700 pro package. 4" alpine speakers in the dash where the original ones went. some 200 dollar speakers in the back that i will look up the name. 10"w7 jl audio subwoofer with a factory specification size box. jl audio 300/4 v2 amp for my speakers, 500/1 vs amp for my sub. the front driver and passenger doors have dynamat in them also. K&N oil filter, royal purple 10w-30 oil. thats about it, not that much, but i would like to upgrade my engine some to get better gas mileage. i also put on bf goodrich all terrain baja champion. i want some street tires though so i can use them when i'm not driving on bad roads.

best thing you can do for better mileage with a turbo (with automatic) is not step on the throttle- keep it out of boost.

otherwise, all you can do is change 'everything' for a sequential, OBDII-like, injection and ignition setup.... not for the faint of heart or small of wallet.
