1986 Drive Shaft on a 1989
Hey out there.
I bent a rear drive shaft last weekend and I found a used one for a reasonable price.
Will a drive shaft from a 1986 truck, 6 cyl, 4x4, 5spd, short bed, regular cab fit a 1989 truck, 6cyl, 4x4, 5spd, short bed regular cab?
I think it will fit but realize I am crossing a generation of the truck and wanted to poll the group here for input.
Thanks!

Length is easy. Measure from the tcase flange to the diff flange. Then measure the drive shaft.
Main thing to check is that they are both single cardan (ujoints at both ends) shafts, and that the bolt patterns for the flanges are the same.
I can't remember, but its possible that the 89 will have a different bolt pattern then the 86. Easy to check though, just measure it.
