1986 4runner running to cold?
my guage bearly moves off of the cold line all the time. its freezing out side and my heater sucks beacuse my coolant wont warm up. i put a new 180 t-stat in and still nothin. any ideas??

The stock thermostat should be in the 195 degree range, also check the temperature gauge sending unit, they can go bad and not read properly, i had it happen to me. For the heater, make sure the heater control valve under the hood is working, when they get old they can freeze up and not open. I had this happen on my 86 4Runner and i replaced the heater valve with one from a 90 4Runner, its plastic so it won`t rust or freeze up. You might also back flush the heater core to clean it out.

Sounds like you have an air bubble or its not full. 22RE's typically run on the cold side in the snow belt. Try running a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to see if it helps.

cool thanks my radiator leaks so i need to replace it first the wierd thing is that my buddys 85 runs a little below half in the same weather so idk
