I just installed a set of 1 1/2" BJ Spacers on my 4Runner. I have Downey 26mm torsion bars. I let all the tension off the torsion bars, but I'm still sitting 16" from the top of rim to bottom of fender. I do have manual hubs, so the CV's are not turning 95% of the time - only when I'm off road. Is this 16" going to be too great? Smaller torsion bars? Any suggestions?

Don't know if 16" is going to "be too great".
I suppose that you could put the front up on jack stands and fully cycle the front axle while turning it and check for CV joint bind.

Smaller (as in stock OEM size) t-bars would certainly help.
By going with the 26mm bars you've really increased the front spring rate, which is not only providing some lift, but will also effect the ride. It'll be a stiffer ride.
