"14P" plug on cpu What does it control?

Just as my title states.... What does 14P control?

I have a large draw on my electrical system (+500ma) and when I remove 14P it goes away. I'm pretty sure this is not normal.

My truck seemed to run fine, but is my cpu taking a dump?

I'm sitting on the edge of my seat.

I'm not sure what all connects to it, but 14P just means 14 pins. Anyway, you're ECU may be okay. You may just have a shorting wire along the cable or bad ground.

You should be able to test the terminals at 14p connection to determine if the ECU is actually the problem.....as in voltage/resistance...blah, blah, blah

See EG1-218

If it is bad at that location, I saw one on ebay going pretty cheap so far.

Is the draw intermittent? or steady?
Do you ever have water enter the body through the windshield/pillar? Is there dampness in that area at all?

Main relay staying on? I take it your draw is with the ignition off.

instead of unplugging everything you should be just pulling fuses tell your draw is exceptable levels. that would be anything under .50 m.amps. plus that will narrow down the cicuits.

Thanks for the advice, as far as pulling fuses, I'm well past that.

I still had the draw on with everything removed. I chased it all teh way back to the ECU. Finally when I unplugged 14P, the constant +500ma draw went away.

There were other sources found along the way, but this one is definitely there. I have no problem undoing the wire looms, but this one goes behind the dash pretty deep. I am down to the Air ducting and it's a PITA behind that stuff.

Thanks for the links, more research to do now.
