100k service - '95 4Runner
Currently I just flipped over to 99k, bought the truck in the beginning of November with 93k.
The PO changed all the fluids, but I already changed the diff's and t-case (how long should I go before I change it?)
I also switched to Mobi1 Extended Performance, but found that I burn it all too easily (or so I hope).
Plan on going to Mobil1 High Mileage, how long should I go for on that?
So now the real question, what should I do for the 100k service interval? I'll have to do mainly everything myself as I don't have much money bieng in HS.
Also, over the summer (June) I'll be going on a 6k mile roadtrip, what should I do to prepare for that?
By then I'll probably have around 108k, I average 1,200 miles a month.
TIA.
Phil

Get your vin number and check if the truck has ever had the HG replaced toyota will do the first one under 100k miles for free. And you probably want a new water pump, timing belt, and fluids in the tranny.

agreed with everything necro has to say.
might wanna check on the steering rod (forget what the technical term is called) recall while your at it.
yeah, mobile high mileage or castrol high mileage are the best ones.
use a good filter too.
you sound set and know what your doing. if you have some money, lift the butt up if you havent/ maybe get some new shocks?

PO def put some work into it. He replaced all 4 shocks too, but failed to replace the springs. Since we will have a total of 650 LBS total in the car during the trip I think some new springs are in order,

well dont go and do it unless you find that its never been done.
its supposed to be done every 60k miles so if he did it at 60 or more, you still got 20k to go. check on that first.
if you do change the timing belt and the waterpump, change the t-stat too... if your already in there you know?
now if you cant do it yourself, call for some quotes or find someone you trust to do it for a good price. i mean its hard work, its not going to be cheap...

Good news, or so I hope.
The HG was done in March of '98 and the Steering Rod was doe in July of '06.
With this trip I'm going on, I'm planning on bringing 2 belts, coolant, oil. What else? What kind of coolant? Toyota OEM? Coolant flush or DIY?
Also how should I check for sludge?
lol too many questions.
