What size bore and pistons?

Hey all,
Rebuilding my 22re and was honing the cylinders and noticed in the 3rd cylinder it had 2 pretty gnarly scores in it. They're deep enough to slightly catch my fingernail on. This is a first time rebuild for me so I was wondering If I should try honing a lil more or just take it to a shop and go all out and just bore it .30 over. I was thinking of going .10 over but I can't find any pistons that are .10 over...or would I get away with using over size rings on my stock pistons? Appreciate any input.. I'd like to keep it stock as possible. And I'm also using OEM Toyota internals..and would like to keep it that way lol. Thanks.

No way to tell what really needs to be done without mikeing the bores for size and taper.
Are you even sure that your bores are standard now??
If your rod and main bearings showed substantial wear, you might look at the crank as well.
If you don't have the instruments and experience, a good machine shop is your friend.
Not a good idea to use oversize rings on standard pistons, although when I was first half-ass building engines, I filed a few oversize rings for correct end clearance to fit in worn standard bores.

We measured taper and bore and is within spec. Crank and rod bearings are okay I am getting the crank polished. It's just those couple somewhat deep grooves that are what's making me think it will need to be bored.

Thinking it may just be smart to go ahead and get it bored and throw some oversize pistons and rings in.

I'm not there to put my fingernail on those scorings, in order to get a perfect picture of what they are, but from your images,
I'm thinking I would leave them alone if the bore and taper measure good.

Whats your machine shop guy say??

Red face

Your building a low horsepower engine so to speak .

I also say don`t mess with it unless you just want to do it because!!

Now if you were building a 1000 Hp different story.
