I am running a brand new weber carb set up on my `85.This thing loads up real bad with fuel.I took the carb off to check some things and there was a lot of raw fuel in the intake.That would explain why it`s running so rich.My question is;what would cause this?I have the mixture screw set at 1 and half turns out.Does it have something to do with vacuum lines?Am I missing something here?Thanks for any help.

do you have a pressure regulator? too much pressure will push fuel past the needle and seat flooding your motor. webers only like about 2 pounds.

No press. regulator,,I didn`t think I needed one.Anybody else using one of these?

i recently put a weber 32\36 on my 79 truck. i also installed a pressure regulator, its adjustable and i have it set at 3.5 psi right now, seems to be fine. i didnt try to run it without a regulator, from what i read the webers need pretty low pressure. if i recall the regulator was about $20 from the local parts shop.

Do you guys think this would cause the motor to be sluggish?Well that and the fact that I had the distributor out of my `84 in it?

like toy power said in a previous post, too much fuel pressure will force fuel through the carb, it will run really rich and be sluggish. i'm not sure what psi comes from the factory fuel pump but i'm sure its more than 3 psi.
i wouldnt think the dist. would affect it if it was from the same engine from an 84.

The `84 and `85`s have different distributors.I noticed the internals were a little different.

I believe i read somewhere the stock fuel pump puts out 7psi.
