A leak down compression test might do it but you, will have to have the timing lined up and another chain on there. You are better off just pulling the head and taking it to the shop and having it redone and checked. How many miles are on it?

178k, probably a good idea. I have a "new" head on the bench, just needs to be checked out at a machine shop.

the 3vze is a non interference engine, meaning that if you break the belt the valves have enough clearence if you have a stock cam, idk about the 22-re... no clue.

22re + timing chain break = destruction
A leak-down test = Is a test used to tell where compression (air in the cylinder) is leaking from. Close the valves, put the piston your testing at the top, fill with air, and look at the gauge and see if its leaking (little is normal) and if you can hear air hissing out of the intake, suspect intake valves. Hissing out of exhaust, then the exhaust valves. Hissing out of the oil cap, then rings.

It most certainly destroyed the pistons and bent the valves.

I doubt it. 750rpm...valves and pistons slamming each other.

22 series engines are absolutly interferance engines .. and valve stems are super easy to bend ... I would lay money on 2 bent valves , and pistons will be fine
I have bent a valve turning the crank over by hand (socket & ratchet) .
