Throttle position sensor
Bought a 85 sr5 4x4 22re a few weeks ago. Guy told me it has a 94 motor with the 85 intake on it but needed the tps sensor to run so I bought it and now it will run but just for a second or two. I thought maybe the fuel pump but come to find out that its fine, the relay was bad though. Changed it out and now have fuel to the rail but still only runs for just a second, called the guy I got it from and he said the bracket (or butterfly etc) the tps bolts to was from the 94. Would that have anything to do with it only running for a moment? Tried a different mass air flow same thing, thing unplugged the mass air flow and still the same thing. Any ideas? Please help I want to drive this thing!

How is your timing? Are you getting fire to the plugs? Are your injectors firing? Make sure all hoses and cable are connected. The Air Flow Meter must be connected and no leaks in the air flow system. Seems to me Toyota did change to a different part number on the 92 an up TPS and that may be one of your issues.

Everything is as it should be and for the split second that it runs it runs really smooth. I even took the the tps off then tried to crank it and still the same thing.
