Shifting trouble
I hope y'all can help me, I have a 2WD '84 Base Model Pickup with the non-EFI 22R engine & 4sp auto trans.
For whatever reason, it won't shift into OD, although it used to. The trans fluid is fresh, the OD switch is working, & the OD relay is working. I was thinking the problem might be with the OD solenoid, but is it possible there's a speed sensor somewhere that's acting up?
I'm also going to need to replace the trans output shaft seal, how big of a deal is that?
My Haynes shop manual is just a little bit better than useless, as there is no trans breakdown of any sort & the wiring schematics are inaccurate.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
