second gen extra cab rear bench

Hey all,
I have a 1985 toyota pickup extra cab and I have the stock bench behind the seats but over the years it has gotten tore up and bent. looking to build something new back there and was wondering if anyone has done the same. Was thinking about an all wood set up of an all metal build or a combination of the two.

Any one have any ideas or pictures? thanks.

who said anything about seats?: I am talking about a bench, the L brackets right below my speakers support a bench that runs all the way across the back

It's more like a shelf. I would just try to fab something up that was more useful than the previous

My apologies. I saw bench but it didn't register as a shelf. My brain envisioned little jump seats similar to an FJ40 or older Nissan/Datsuns.

I'm just retarded....

It's pretty easy to make a new one out of thicker MDF with stronger supports and legs..just cut & drill some holes. Carpet or rattle can and done.. that's what I plan to do atleast when mine breaks in half

I just got the shelf last week. I was looking at it and it wouldnt be that hard to just make a new one and recover it with carpet. Not the best pic, but I can get a bottom view if need for the bracket that supports it. It is flimsy though.
