Questions on tire clearance??? And 2 inch rancho springs
Hey, I have an 85 4runner I am fixing up( started with just a floor patch and has gotten kinda outta hand) my question is this....... I want to clear at least some 32x11.5/15's but i dont want to go with to much lift I ordered a 2 inch rancho system and I am hoping it will let the 32's clear. does anyone know what a 2 inch system will clear? I dont want any scrubbing. And is the rancho sytem any good I wanted to go with The OME setup but it is hard to find a reliable dealer (for me anyway) the Norwest Offroad systems were convincing till I called them up and couldn't unerstand the guy on the phone. I apperciate any info I can get on this.

Whatever you do do not use NWOR, they are CRAP.... The rancho lift should clear 32's, but wont be the best ride out there. There isnt too much out there that is bolt on for 84-85 that will ride really nice. Most the stuff requires welding and steering upgrades, so I would go with OME unless you want to go bigger than 3".
Both the Les Schwabs and Ric's Offroad center in IF are ARB dealers.

So how much hyway ride quality am I going to be giving up if i go a little bigger on the lift I already have alot into 4.88 yukons, detroit in back, trutrack up front and new seals bearings ect. I would really like to have the best on road manners that I could and still not get stuck going camping and toyin around. i probably spend 70% of time on road (maybe less if I can ever find an end to this tRUSTy toy.) I wonder if there is a better way, I see alot of guys go with yard springs off chev's or wagoneers. Is this the way to go? I dont mind doing some hangar relocation and what not but I'm no engineer. plus it would be the time to do it now that i hae the underside all cleaned frame is raw and about ready for a POR15 and undercoat treatment. Anyway I am wondering if I should tell summit to hold up on the springs, and go another route I would love to go with a hi-steer setup but I am down to about 2500$ left for this project on springs and stuff. anybody know about a good bumper for sale? Oh and are the teraflex revolving shackles anything to consider for my application? thanks for your help. back to the grinding and tack welding marathon I really should have bought the fiberglass quarters.

With 4.88's I would go with a 33" tire. Wether its a 33x10, 33x12 or 285 it wont really matter, but you'll like the hwy rpms better. If this is just going to be a casual hunting/camping truck your best bet is going to be the OME setup, hands down. If you get a heavy front bumper and/or a winch get their HD springs, otherwise the normal springs will be fine. For the rear you can look and see what you think is your application. Get the springs installed, drive em around a little, go play in the hills then see what type of tire clearance you have and go from there.

my 4runner cleared my 32" bfg all-terains perfectly with no rub anywhere but it was ifs (wider stance than a solid axle) that ome lift will be great! you should be able to clear 33's with no problems.
