this is using the "color replacement tool" so it dark in the dark parts and lighter red in the lighter area

this is done using the paint dump tool. so its all the same color all over.

To paint that truck red on photoshop, and keep shadows and highlights, you need to choose overlay on the paint brush tool bar.

factory toyota red. I don't like red vehicles but am surprised how well it looks on toyota pickups.
