Question Oil Pressure Problems

I just installed new oil seals on my 22R oil pump. I took it out for a 15 minute drive and never revved over 2500 rpm. About 500 meters from my house I heard a pop like a seal or hose blew. When I reached my house from a coast because I shut down the truck to prevent any damage, I found oil spayed all over the engine bay. I took the oil pump off again and discovered that the new front seal was blown. After re-installing a new front seal, and clean the pressure regulator valve, I started it up. The oil pressure gauge read no oil pressure. So I took the pump off again and re-installed. After two start ups, I had oil pressure again but higher than normal just like I had when I blew the last seal. I am also getting pressure through the valve cover vent tube. I checked the PCV valve and am getting plenty of suction. The local shop tells me that the pressure regulator valve may be bad and is causing the excess pressure in the valve cover vent tube and also to blow out the front seal when RPM's are higher. Anybody have any other ideas? Thanks for any help!

Well, since I have not gotten any suggestions on what to do I guess I will try a new oil pump and see where that puts me.
