Hi everyone I just got a 84 pickup 4x4 4cyl, and I was wondering how to tell what gear ratio it gas because there's no tags anywhere?!

1) Open dif: lift one tire and turn it one revolution. Count revolutions on drive shaft. Helps if you mark it.
Locked/welded dif: lift both tires.

2)Pull dif count teeth on ring gear and pinion.

If the tage is still on the firewall under the hood, just behind the motor, it will have a gear code on it. Here are the codess.
