Missfire/dead cylinder #1

Hello everyone I purchased a 1985 extra cab pickup, it sat since 2004 ran when it was parked, I put new fuel pump fuel filter, and new spark plugs, it fired right up ran good for 62 miles then I parked it got up the next morning replaced bushing on the front shocks then went to start it it started knocking pretty bad but once oil pressure built the knock went away and still hasn't knocked like it did, it was running rouph so I pulled the plug wires 1 at a time and found cylinder #1 is dead so replaced the wires, cap, rotar and going to replace the spark plugs again, after starting it with the new plugs wires and cap #1 cylinder is still dead, next I'm going to try another set of plugs and if that don't work pulling the head to look at the valves and hand crank to see if they are working properly, from what I've looked into everyone has problems with cylinder #1 and #3 not just #1. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks to everyone for their time and help.

Are you getting fire to the plugs? I would see if it is on the Firing Side first. 1 and 3 Injectors share the same connection. 2 and 4 Injectors share another connection >>>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...t-22re-270857/ see if it is on the Fuel Side. Some more information >>>>>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51897320

I failed to mention the most important part I do apologise, it is a 22r carberated, it does fire up and run on #2#3#4 cylinders just not number #1. Got new spark plugs going to test them sometime today if the snow calms down a little.

You need to test the system and stop throwing parts at it blindly.

Start with a spark test at the plug side of the plug wire. no spark try at the distributor. Yes spark, proceed with all the fun stuff like bent valves.

The parts i put on it it was going to need anyways, cylinder #1 is getting blue and purple spark but no fire going to do compression check then pull the valve cover and look at the valves.

I have had spark and it still would not ignite fuel. It was a bad coil, I would test the Primary and Secondary of the coil. How is compression on that cylinder and compare it to the other cylinders.

I'm color blind so can't trust spark color for estimating spark tempuratures. But if it sparks the resistance in the wire could be to high.

We're all hoping for you it's not mechanical.

Fixed

So I pulled the Vale cover off the intake valve was so far off adjustment it was funny adjust intake and exhaust valves put cover on fired it up no luck, I proceeded to try engine sea foam treatment and what do ya know cylinder #1 came back to life and is firing and running good, so I had to of been a stuck valve from carbon buildup or something right there letting air escape and not pressurize, after a can and a half of sea foam and almost a whole can of carb choke and throttle body cleaner idle came up from just under 500 rpms too 750-800 response on throttle peddle is alot more touchy gains Rpms better.
