Just picked it up tonight

It has a 4 inch lift, probably from skyjacker... I will see how the springs do on the trails, sounds like chevys in the back is the way to go. 35 inch tires on some 15x10 rims, tires will need to be replaced later this summer. I have hardly had any time to really look at it, I'll be working on it and taking more pictures tomorrow.

That is another 85 SR5 4Runner with the same paint, I know the truck you are talking about. His top is white though, not black. And its a bit cleaner then mine.

Nice truck! I guess the OP knows Doug in MN? That's who I bought my truck back from 2 years ago. Word of advice about these gold trucks. You can't get away with anything without people knowing it was you. If you are at a place and someone drives by, the only truck they will remember is the big gold one. There was a thread on here awhile ago about tracking how many of each color are still on the ground, and the numbers are getting low. Thumbs up on the purchase.

Thanks

He left the club before I joined, but I know who he is. Can't believe you sold it, and then bought it back 10 years later. Thats awesome! Would love to have such a clean looking truck.

I really like the gold paint, and big graphics. A few people I work with think its ugly, others love it.

Well I was planning on removing the bushwacker flares, but not this soon. One of the tires had some pretty good dry rot, and developed a leak in the sidewall on Friday So I pulled out my 33" swampers and tossed them on. They are on a set of 8" wide rims with 4" backspacing. I was a little worried about clearing the steering on the front axle, but everything clears by about a 1/4". I will be ordering up some custom backspaced rims later this summer along with a set of 35" MTR Kevlars.

I'll be buying some sheet metal soon, and start patching up the rust.

Also took a cool picture of the shifter knob.

Also modeled up a rear bumper in solid works, just need to pick up some steel now.

For your rear bumper, there is a guy in your club that made the rear bumper that Doug put on mine. Its held up to some serious abuse on my first wheeling trip. I had the tubing on the corners added to it, but the main bumper is from that guy in MN. I think I have a magnet card or receipt from it in the glove box if you can't find out who it was from your club.
BTW, when I bought mine back, I spent some time on the MNtoyx4 website and I was really impressed. They seem like a really good group of people with good info.
Anyway, keep us posted.
I think the color of our trucks is very close to the color on the new Matrix. I am going to buy some touch up paint and see if it matches. 3D8, our exact color has to be mixed.

Thanks

I'll be making the bumpers my self, I made the front and rear bumpers on my 89 pickup. I just need to make a run to the steel yard and pick up some steel tubing and sheet metal.

I was looking at the new matrix in gold at the dealership, thinking it looked pretty damn close my self too. I also have a site bookmarked that sells touchup paint for our color. $20 for a rattle can, they also sell pints and quarts of paint.

Got my brackets the other night, did a little more work on the rear bumper yesterday. Its finally on the truck I marked the holes for the mounting brackets wrong the first time... And I had to move them over 5 inches.
