Help! She won't start up!

I picked up a1985 sr5 4x4 22re with efi that had been sitting for 2 and a half years, was told all it needed was the tps sensor and it'd run. Bought the sensor and turned over and sputtered once found out there was no power to the fuel pump. Changed the circuit opening relay and got the fuel pump to work, no it will crank up but only run for just for a second and die, it is getting fuel to the injector rail. It did have a small bit of old gas in the tank when I added fresh fuel bur I was told it was non ethanol but it does smell old. Could the regulator cause this?

Check the air flow meter and make sure that it is plugged in snug. That will cause those symptoms and is a easy fix.

Edit: is it throwing any codes?

It is snug, and not sure about the codes, I don't have the tool and none of the parts stores have one that will read anything older than 96
