Hello, just bought a rig:)

Hello, heres my 85 x-tra cab 22-re sr5 4wd truck...

I enjoy the way it drives and wanted to check in w/ a cool forum for tips and advice. no major plans for it besides restoring it/rid rust in bed/ etc...

i do plan on making it a reliable, capable expedition type truck that can take me places.

possible mods: CB radio w/ firestick.
shell with powdercoated safari/jungle rack
rear slider
vent windows

i just want it to be extremely reliable for when i take trips, i know the 22re from research is near bulletproof...

-Thanks for this cool forum "YOTATECH"

awesome truck! Just want to make sure you know that the 85 truck is VERY desired! and like others have said, hang out around here and you're wallet will get drained by upgrades. I think its worth it, but don't say we didn't warn you!

lol. thanks guys...i don't plan on modding the hell out of it...just want to make it reliable..eg. maintenance stuff/and switch up a couple items that i really didn't prefer on the sr5. Other than that, dual is staying just the way she is!

I know how this truck is sought after...85' is arguably the best year...i looked for almost a year hounding
I wanted a stock look, clean frame, and few owners & heres what i finally ended up with.
Although my 1st choice was white...i love this black/chrome setup and the gray combo is striking...
thanks for the kind comments

Man that truck is clean. Makes me kinda wish I had went after that year. Then I remind my self that where I live we are lucky if a 2000 looks that good, never mind an 85. Living about 5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and road salt for ice control in winter = RUST!!!

Nice to hear you're going to keep it stock and not beat the hell out of it like majority around here. 10 years from now, most here are going to seriously regret beating these great trucks out of existence when they're are gone forever.
