I thought I had the perfect solution for my new tire/wheel choice. The 5 spoke limited wheel on 99-2000 4runners looks great on my Tacoma, and when I put the spare next to my 84 4runner, I was sold.
I always knew it would require spacers, so when I did the IFS vented rotor/caliper swap, I installed a set of 1.5" spacers.
However, the 3rd gen limited wheel will not fit around the base of the AISIN manual hub. I have searched around and have determined that if I want to use these wheels my options are:
Have the wheels milled out 2 mm (106 to 108)
Swap out to IFS Hubs and do away with the spacers.
Question: Has anyone milled out a limited wheel and what were the results?
Are the IFS hubs smaller in diameter at the base than the SFA hubs?
I can't believe I didn't think about the bore size.
Some more searching and it turns out that there may be hope for me yet. Another member her posted a similar problem and found that it was the washers on the hub, that prevented the wheel from sliding on.
It was a different wheel, but it was an IFS wheel, so maybe I can try it again and get better results

From reading on here and other sites, it would appear that the SFA hubs are 108 and IFS hubs are 106. I think that most Toyota wheels are lug centric, so the hub diameter really doesn't matter. However, these wheels have a beveled edge on the inside and outside that make a ridge on the inside of the hole for the hub. It's probably a true 106.
Interestingly, I have the same wheels on my Tacoma and they slide on and off without issue, so the hub on my SFA is definitely larger.
I see that you are in Cedar Park. Do you know of any good machine shops can bore out rim?
Final update: The wheels do fit! While putting in the new axles, I went ahead and tried a wheel on the opposite side, and with some encouragement, it slid over the hub. I went back to the passenger side, and it would not slide over the hub. I felt around the hub and noticed a few areas that had high spots from being worked on. I just took my dremel on a few spots, put some grease on the hub, and ta-dah! Now I have to lower the front since the new tires are abour an inch smaller than the old.
I tried a couple of different wheels on my 85 and the issue I ran into was the tie rod hitting the wheel. I did not try the IFS hub, but I did try a 3/16 spacer and it would not work.
I already had 1.5" spacers, and hi steer, so that wasn't an issue. However, with the change in backspacing and the narrower tire, the wheels are more tucked in the wheel well. I am not sure I like that.
NO GO. I did move the washers toward the inside and the wheels still did not fit all the way over the hubs.
I really like these wheels, so I'm going to have the diameter of the hole bored out on the set or at least 3 of them.

I just got my 4Runner wheels mounted up to my 85 ExtraCab and it only took some sanding of some hub deformities and the removal of 4 locking hub nuts & washers.
$250.00 for the wheels, $80.00 for powder coating and $719.00 for the BFGs.
That tire and wheel combination look great, and I am glad it worked out. What size tire did you go with?

Here are my new wheels & tires on the truck and they get broken in this weekend up by Frazier Park.
Thank you, I really like the look also but, I had her out today with the Frazier Park 4x4 and Trail Crew club people and because my new tires are 3" too small I broke the right side hub lock on a big rock.
I have a spare hub lock so no worries but, real soon I am going to buy a proper set of 33s so this will not happen again.
These wheels are set deep in the wells and too small a tire doesn't offer enough protection to the wheel like a proper large balloon tire does.
I do love the way my Yota looks with these wheels & tires, so did everyone I was with today so acceptance is a wonderful thing.
