FSM - nearly all years (Factory Service Manual)

I've seen a lot of members post asking where they can buy a FSM or asking that someone scan a few pages out of a FSM for them. I searched the forums for "FSM" and "Service Manual" but I didn't get a lot of hits. I think it would be great to make a 'sticky' post that has links to the FSMs so that everyone can get the info that they need to keep there trucks running right.

Now everyone can RTFM!

Most/all of them are in zipped PDF format. Torrent/ftp/http is merely the download method in use for the download.

cool, but the FSM's are also in a sticky at the top of most folders but people just don't know how to search...hence why I added a link in my sig a couple of years ago....

still good to spread the knowledge...

What I meant was that some are not a simple download from the website in case some members aren't familiar with Bit Torrent... I'll clarify that in the origional post.

What sucks though is that if you want a pre-'85 FSM, you pretty much have to buy one. I know people always post that online library link, but if that's the FSM, well, it was no better than the Chiltons back then, then. The 1983 FSM shouldn't have pages that say "for 1970-78 pickups", should it? Us 1st gen'ers are just out of luck for free FSMs. Anyways, my rant.

Yes I know. It just seems like people present that library link as being an FSM, which doesn't seem accurate. It's still free, and better than nothing though.

Which manual? I can alter the description on the site to clarify its contents, if you could give a bit more info on what would make a more accurate description.

I have to manually check all the manuals, and generally try to create a description from what I can see within or such, so especially where vehicles outside of my knowledge are concerned, reality and the description may be a tad awry.

I'm always open to suggestions on corrections, however.

From what I've seen, the entire online library manual collection just has regular aftermarket manuals, not FSMs. So that link where there username is auto and password is mobile is what I'm talking about.
I look up an 83 Toyota pickup, and I get a manual which covers a very wide range of vehicle years, and seem to quite obviously not be an FSM. I'm actually not trying to be anal or anything, I was just ranting a bit that for pre-85 vehicles, there really are no online sources for the FSM. (other than ebay....)

Are you saying that you run that webpage, or what? I don't think the library necessarily presents them as FSMs, just people on these sites who are posting links to FSMs. All the 85 + links seem to actually be FSMs, just not the pre-85 links. I may have misinterpreted your response at first. Anyway, if you're thinking that I'm critiquing how the actual library website portrays the manuals, I'm not. I just see that link to the library posted with other "FSM" links on this site and others.

Still in all it is nice to have all the links in one place what ever the perceived short comings may be. As for the pre-85 FSMs not being online or in computer format lets remember that back in those days nothing was on computer it was all paper manuals [usually oil stained lol]. Because of the rarity of surviving early vehicles Toyota has probably not bothered to digitize the earlier manuals.

Ah, my apologies. I had misinterpreted what you meant.

I thought you meant one of the descriptions on the downloads was completely wrong.

The older manuals are buggers to get hold of as it is totally dependant upon somebody scanning a hardcopy for those to become available. Like hen's teeth, they are.

Yes, thanks guys. It is nice to have it all in one location, so long as when I complain about not having an FSM for my 83, I don't get flamed for not finding the thread which has all the "FSM" links.

Yeah, even the dealership couldn't help me much with an '83 manual. There is something about '85...even the auto shops that have some subscription to online FSM's seem to not have anything pre-85 (I guess because like aviator mentioned, nothing was online then). I've got an 85 FSM in digital format, and for most stuff it works just fine. It does have some nice oil stains on it, too! I'll just need to keep an eye out on ebay.

I JUST BOUGHT A hilux/4runner DIESEL engines 79-97 book..BEST REPAIR MANUAL ive ever seen if you need any pages scannned or anything looked up i can do it!!! YOU CANT FIND AN ENGLISH VERSION ONLINE
