Egr Valve

I've been having some hesitation when maintaining cruising speeds on my 85 4runner. I took the vacume hose off the EGR valve and plugged the end going to the air chamber and it seems to run alot better. Is it ok to run it this way until I can get it fixed?

May not pass emissions testing, but it won't harm your engine. I have mine like that on purpose, it runs better too that way.

I removed my EGR completely and it runs just fine. My intake and head thanks me for not pumping all that black nasty junk back into the engine also.
